I was doing a workshop with my students yesterday and stumbled upon this poem by beautiful West Oakland representer, Chinaka Hodge. This joint is from a few years back, but I still love it. And if you don’t know, Naka is one of the dopest writers in the Bay Area. Cop her book For Girls With Hips and watch out for her independently written play, Mirrors in Every Corner, which will open at SF’s Intersection for the Arts in spring of 2010.
