Cali representer and West Oakland educator J. Lately is back with a dope ode to Cali’s world class trees. On it, producer Nima Fadavi blends falsetto ad-libs and lower register horn blasts, before the beat crescendos into a soulful sample (which, I’ve yet to identify) that says, “Can we go home and share the love?” With this sample as a framework, J. Lately and El Prez lace weed references with slick flirtation, making it clear that the perfect woman is one who can roll a perfect J.
Lately, the Bay Area emcee has been prepping the release of his new album 1 Way Ticket, a collaborative project produced entirely by the talented Fadavi. On the video for “Share The Love”, Director Kolepa picks visuals that accompany the song’s chill vibe perfectly. I surely wouldn’t mind an industrial elevator ride to a rooftop party in the Sco. If you have a burger and a beer ready, the kid might even chief.

Everything fits together really nice especially Nima’s production so I was rooting for this track. But like Guru said, “it’s all in the voice” and as some constructive criticism, make your voice more appealing: loud, energetic, different, raspy, anything, make it STAND OUT really.
Also I can’t be the only self admitting heavy smoker in the bay that thinks we currently have too many redundant ganja tunes?
