As we continue to read more about which teams fans are better at fighting (or shooting as the case may be) and what the NFL will do to make football wholesome again, the regular season continues to approach. With both Bay Area teams having something to prove, we want to hear what the readers think.
Will the Raiders young corner backs answer the call or will they continue to be chewed up like an all-you-can-eat buffet at a fat camp? Will Alex Smith transform into the quarterback he was expected to be or will he continue to fight the fate of Jamarcus Russell? Will Terrell Pryor’s raw athleticism be able to unseat ho-hum Jason Campbell as the starting quarterback by the end of the season? And lastly, which has a better chance of happening, Al Davis getting cast as the villain in the newest Saw movie or Michael Crabtree collecting 1,000 receiving yards?
Let us know what you think about all these topics and more. 38thNotes will always stick by the Silver & Black, but we’re always up for a little healthy debate regarding our gold mining counterparts.

As a life long niner fan, I’ll be real happy to go 8-8. I can’t stand listening to the radio and hear callers talk about “maybe” Smith will finally get it done this year… or even worse “let’s give him one more shot to prove himself”. That’s talk for a rookie or 3rd year quarterback max. Not a guy entering his 6th season. I would love to be proven wrong, and I will be the first onboard the bandwagon if he ever starts producing, but it’s time to move on for me.
I think the raiders are an exciting team, and I anticipate a lot of sportscenter top plays. But probably more of those than wins. It’s really hard to imagine them ever being a playoff team with the way the quarterback and coach (cough… 49ers…) are constantly changing and the wicked witch of the (AFC) west at the helm.
